Rainbow Valley Afternoon Cultural Tour

Travel 90km south from Alice Springs to Rainbow Valley to meet your host, a Traditional custodian. Here we relax over a mug of billy tea and are introduced to an amazing Culture and Country. After lunch your host will share the spectacular Art Site of Rainbow Valley where we will experience, rock art, engravings and occupations sites never before open to the public. In the afternoon your Aboriginal guide will share the ancient landscape of Rainbow Valley and explain some of its Cultural significance. In the late afternoon admire the changing colours of a spectacular sunset with a glass of champagne and light dinner before we say farewell and return to Alice Springs. This unique NEW tour blends Culture and Country with the bold beauty of Central Australia. It will leave you with Lasting memories and a greater understanding of Aboriginal Culture.

Walkabout Bore/ Hailstone 4x4 Safaris

Steeped in cultural and pastoral history, Walkabout Bore - located on the Hugh River Stock Route- provides adventurers the opportunity to experience remote desert four wheel driving with the support of traditional owners who understand the area like no-body else. Ricky and Dennis Orr are descendants of generations of Southern Arrernte/Luritja people and traditional owners of the Hailstone Dreaming, Mpwerle (Rainbow Valley) and Walkabout Bore Outstation- lands surrounded by forests of Desert Oak, rocky sandstone range escarpments and remnants of Australia’s famous droving stock route to the Old Ghan railway line.

Walkabout Bore/ Hailstone 4x4 Safaris offers a range of cultural and adventure experiences for visitors.

  • Afternoon charter tours to Ewaninga Conservation Reserve, Hugh River Stock Route, Walkabout Bore, and Rainbow Valley Conservation Reserve.
  • Four wheel drive tag-a-long safaris for groups which include sand-dunes, rocky escarpments and sandy rivers and include cultural displays and interpretation, visits to Ooramina Homestead and Jims Place (home of Dinky the singing dingo).
